Dualtone Recording Artist Carey Ott / Update - September 2007
AZJEANS.COM has committed to using Carey Ott's music in a massive on-line marketing campaign, beginning September 6, 2007. The songs, "I Wouldn't Do That To You," "Sunbathing," and "Am I Just One" from Carey's Dualtone Records debut "Lucid Dream " will be featured exclusively in a slide show and video presentation on the site. For a a look at the campaign go to www.azjeans.com/
This is the fourth high-profile placement for the track, "Am I Just One" after three slots on ABC's hit show Grey's Anatomy, the past two seasons. "I Wouldn't Do That To You" was also used in Season 1 of Fox's Kyle XY.
As evidenced by these TV licenses there is clearly a burgeoning Rock and Pop scene in Nashville to which Carey is a valued contributor. For the second year in a row he has been chosen to headline a show for the 3rd annual "
Next Big Nashville" concert series which features 130 bands playing key Nashville venues from September 5-9, 2007. Carey plays Friday, Sept.7th at The Basement
As part of the kick off for Next Big Nashville listen to XM Satellite Radio Show - Music City Connection - Heroes Behind The Hits featuring Carey, Gabe Dixon, Jeremy Lister and Cortney Tidwell. Their live, acoustic in-the-round performance was heard on XM's The Loft [Channel 50] Monday, September 3 at 6 p.m. (CT) and it will be archived for streaming at http://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/WinATrip.
Amongst all of this great news we couldn't resist featuring some pics from Carey's recent
gig at Lollapalooza on Friday, Aug.3/07. It was truly a spectacular 3 day event attended by over 200,000 people in Chicago's magnificent Grant Park. It was a blast! Carey rocked and Carey & Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell hung out at the Artists Lounge.
About Carey Ott’s "Lucid Dream"
The songs on "Lucid Dream" are the kind of songs that take up residence in your head, hitting you like epiphanies every time you press play. Like Joni Mitchell and Elvis Costello, Ott is willing to throw out the rules of pop songwriting in order to get the effect he wants. You can hear characters moving around, getting in and out of trouble, and even visualize the rooms they were in. The sense of intimacy in Carey Ott’s music derives in part from the respect for space that permeates "Lucid Dream", as if the producers understood that these songs are too good to smother in production.
