Dualtone Recording Artist Carey Ott / Update - March 7, 2007
"AND THE WAR IS ONLY BEGINNING." A taste of the aptly written lyrics that make up the body of work of "Daylight," the single off of Lucid Dream that signals its official release. To underscore the importance of "Daylight" we have produced a video that embraces the song with a touch of the avant-garde. New York-based video director-musician Bohagey Bowes has created video art which complements and interprets "Daylight" in a unique and creative style which illuminates an artistic marriage of music and imaging. So have a look by clicking onto the enclosed theatre scene for the "Daylight" video [ which is a [not so] subtle salute to the CD "Matinee" which was Carey and his brother Chris's band Torben Floor's 2nd full length release a few years back ] and enjoy the song that was #1 on Garageband.com for several weeks in the Indie Rock category and currently enjoys the #20 spot all time.
It would be great once you're on YouTube if you would critique the video and give a rating. While you're in the YouTube mode take a minute and click on the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh2wPA6XY7E and you will hear Carey's lead off track, "Am I Just One" from Lucid Dream which was featured twice on Grey's Anatomy, one of North America's most popular TV series, in 2006. "I wouldn't do that to you" was featured on the ABC series "Kyle XY" on it's season ender. If you're digging it all please take a little time to do some guerilla marketing of your own and pass this update along to everyone in the world!
"AND THE TOURS ARE JUST BEGINNING". Carey will be embarking on a solo tour beginning in Colorado on Saturday, March 17, 2007. It will see him traveling throughout Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, and then back to hometown Nashville. For those of you who are living in the Nashville area, Carey's next show is at the Mercy Lounge Thursday, April 19, 2007 along with Tyrone Wells and Leigh Nash of "Sixpence None the Richer." We'll be sending out the official tour list as soon as it is complete. Carey will be performing at a couple of House Concerts. The first is the kick-off date at Jon Eckhard's in Colorado overlooking the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Check out Carey's performance LIVE that evening! Click here at 7-9pm. MTN. time, for two 45' sets. If you have a facility that you'd like to have Carey perform at, please feel free to contact us with any ideas for gigs. We will also be looking for street team help. If you are a street team member and are in any of the areas where the tour hits, we hope you'll climb aboard and lend a helping hand to market Carey. Check out the Tour page for the most recent confirmed tour dates.
Carey has a new MySpace profile for his Nashville recording digs. Check it out at http://www.myspace.com/velvetshoreline. Perhaps there is someone you know who has promise and may be interested in spending some extreme creative time with Carey.
