Dualtone Recording Artist Carey Ott / Update - July 2007
Lollapalooza is near. Thought we'd jog you a little with a few tid bits and road bits. So Carey's on at 12noon on the PlayStation stage.
In a brain storm session over lunch in Jacksonville, Oregon [the day after opening for the Doobie Brothers playing to 2500 people] we called Jerry DeVivo [Mighty Blue Kings] etc. and asked if he'd like to join in on a couple of numbers. Done deal! Jerry's in! It will be a blast.
Anyone that knows Jerry knows what he brings to the table. The multi-instrumentalist [sax, drums] vocalist is over the top! Sooooooooooo mosy on down and do it. Whassa matta fo u???
Carey is on the homestretch of his latest tour-capades. He's been making a lot of people absolute believers. It's a treat to see the growth of his live performance persona and the audience reaction as a
result. There have been many highlights to build upon. Just check in once and awhile and follow the trail. It's generally a new one with tons of creative and wild-like curves. Smooth as silk....on the road, in the mountains, on the highways back to the streets!!!
You'll find a poster of the Nashville gig at 12th and Porter. Carey will be headlining with support from Tristen and Tommy and the Whale.
Tristen is another Chicago transplant. It's her cd release party for her "Lightest Kind" cd. We're pretty damned excited about it as her and Carey co-produced and co-wrote the total piece [for the most part] at Carey's "Velvet Shoreline" studio/home. She'll be performing in the headline spot with her 5 piece band.
If you're in Nashville and you have moments please attend. It will be refreshing desert before a late evening meal. Cheers! gt
